And Then It Starts...

I’m sure y’all are getting more and more excited by the minute, egged on by the media as they breathlessly build us up towards that thingy wot’s planned for this Saturday
And that would be when some old fellow dresses up in fancy dress and sits on a really big fancy seat while another fellow in fancy dress fits a fancy hat on his head.
It seems that once the fancy hat is firmly fitted we will all been encouraged to stand and chant something at our televisual receiving devices. Something along the lines that we accept this fancy dressed, fancy hat clad, wealthy beyond belief, eco nutter as our big boss. Yeah, right; I don’t fancy that at all. No offancy old boy.
Reassuringly, there was some governmental bod on the ‘news’ today stating that this chant isn’t mandatory and various talking tin cans, smartphones an’ such won’t be monitoring you for your compliance. Really? No phone alert if no chanting is detected?
Anyhoo, one has to hope all those heads of various security outfits are sleeping well just now...
I do believe, come the day, my little nest of vipers and I will take an ambling drive taking in the countryside before it’s all given over to fields of glass sun capturing contraptions and windmills.

Quote;  John Updike.

“His gray suit makes him seem extra vulnerable, in the way of children placed in unaccustomed clothes for ceremonies they don't understand.”

          Joseph Wood Krutch.

"Security depends not so much upon how much you have, as upon how much you can do without."

I won't fall over with astonishment if Joe Biden's handlers copy the coronation idea and fit old Joe up with a specially made crown so he can receive their signals properly.

A K Haart,
If that comes to pass, in this crazy world, would we be surprised? I think not.

A K Haart. Your comment on Joe Brandon caused me to think that a more appropriate control mechanism would be The Wrong Trousers that Wallace was tricked into wearing.
No more wandering off in the wrong direction of shaking hands with the wrong person.
It would be good to see the foreign heads of state trying to keep faces straight.

Doonhamer,
I must admit I thought Biden was Wallace in disguise...
