And Then, Memories...

Yesterdays piece about video formats came about while I decided to take a stroll down memory lane which was when I encountered the video format conundrum.
You may remember… Pardon? Oh. Well, so, when I retired all those years ago, I was approached by the Marine Manager in Singapore and asked if I’d be willing to put together - and conduct - a three day course covering the moving of a jack-up rig from preparation, leaving the old location, the tow, pinning on the new location, pre-loading and jacking to working air gap.
I accepted the challenge and put a course together during my last two trips which were spent in Singapore rather than on the rig. Bummer eh? This course was accepted by management thus I started.
Three days a month globe hopping, meeting new friends, reuniting with old and getting paid for the pleasure was a great way to ease out of the world of work. And the course, with two way interaction encouraged, was a success with many a warm feed-back. My best remembered? ‘Great to have fun while learning.’ Whoa!! You hear that trumpet? Or is it just me?
While putting the course together I downloaded a few illustrative videos from the Tube-of-You. All I did with some was add my own Acid Express sounds.
Anyhoo, giving all that no never mind, this reminded me of an old video that perfectly sums up the subliminal message hidden deep inside the course for when things go a tad awry and not quite as planned and here it is.
WARNING: This clip is most definitely NOT for Timidadians or those wot are woke. Anyone else contemplating a click, if you’re amongst polite or young company, get them there ear buds in right now, okay? Warnings understood? Give it a click an’ a smile then.

And Then, Let The Video Speak...

Many thanks to Anonymous Rick for finding this little gem, losing it and finding it again. First time I’ve embederated a vid from this site so we’ll see how it goes down below. Any problems, try doing the clicky thingy on this wot’s in blue.

So The Tube of You deemed it to contain inappropriate material so removed it, thus we move ever closer towards the crimes of wrong speak and wrong think... and I see we now have a Minister for Vaccination along with the army being on standby to ‘help’ and there’s also talk of safety and travel certificate to be ‘awarded’ to those wot get jabbed. However, this jab won’t be compulsory. Unless, of course, you want a certificate to enable you to leave your house; but that’s only common sense.

There has to be the usual warning attached to this clip; it’s NOT for those of the Timidadian persuasion or those desperate for a quick shot of an unknown, long term unproven vaccine. Other than that, smile a while.

Addendumadodad;  If this Blog disappears, please don’t be super surprised. It’ll be down to not conforming to the thinking of our brave new world.

Quote;  George Bernard Shaw.

“Nothing but the natural ignorance of the public, countenanced by the inoculated erroneousness of the ordinary general medical practitioners, makes such a barbarism as vaccination possible.......Recent developments have shown that an inoculation made in the usual general practitioner's light-hearted way, without previous highly skilled examination of the state of the patient's blood, is just as likely to be a simple manslaughter as a cure or preventive. But vaccination is nothing short of attempted murder. A skilled bacteriologist would just as soon think of cutting his child's arm and rubbing the contents of the dustpan into the wound, as vaccinating it in the same.”

And Then Another Farewell...

And so Andrew Sachs bows out. He may have left us but I doubt his light will dim. Sleep well and thank you.

As all the old generation of comics and comic actors depart, very soon we’ll only have the new generation left. Those who consider it cleaver and edgy and progressive to use a profanity for every third word rather than used infrequently, with slick timing and hammer-like effect.

If memory serves, back in the day, Roy ‘Chubby’ Brown very rarely resorted to the use of any profanity. On the off-chance I’ve got that wrong, Timidadians? Look away now and if you’re a SJW or a member of the LGTBIHGYSD community, a millennial, a snowflake or of an alphabetically or binary designated persuasion I may not be aware of at this time, just move quickly onwards. However, anyone with a sense of humour, have a smile a while.

Last chance and having said all that, all you aforementioned folk, if you do find your curiosity is getting the better of you and you’re just itching to have a click, please ensure that before - and that’s important - BEFORE you click you have a friend with you who’s fully conversant with the purpose and use of a defibrillator.

Endingly, I caught a lovely line on the Fox channel the other evening used by the program anchor during a discussion regarding how the losers can take any success of the winners and put a negative spin on that success. He said that the opponents of Jesus, when they saw him walk on water, stated, “But, but, but look! He got his feet wet!” I liked that.

And Then, Holiday Flights...

With all the gloom and doom swirling around at the moment, what with Tony in the Chilly-cot and our betters attempting to ‘use’ the democratic system to bestow Theresa Mayhem upon us as our new leader, a leader the elite want but the people probably don’t want, I would imagine many of you will be saying, what the hay, let’s plan our summer holidays and get out of this place for a while.

With this in mind, it gives me the perfect excuse to inbred – no, wait a minute – embed, that’s better, a great little video, that never gets old, relating to something you holiday planners should approach with caution; organising your flights. Especially if you’re determined to save a few pounds.

Please be aware that there are a couple of pauses for applauses in the video so don’t think it’s over. If you do, however, assume it’s over at the first pause, you’ll be totally unaware that  there’s more and a similar pause a tad later. Of course, if you don’t play the video you really won’t be bothered about any pauses. Or applauses.

Finally, any Timidadians tuned in? Naughty words warning so please, please don’t click on anything unless you can get to your safe space right quick, okay? Everyone else, lighten up and enjoy a good laugh. Again. And again.

And Then, It’s Egg Time...

Here’s wishing you all the best for the Easter holidays. Me? Oh, the usual traditional Easter thing; just hanging out.

I ran into this ditty the other day and thought I to me, that’s really catchy and damn cleaver which just goes to show you’re only as old as your own ears. Aren’t those lighted-up dancing about skeletapers, like, so cool? Trust me, it’s more entertaining than anything you’ll find on TV.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the song. Oh, nearly forgot, all you folk with Alzheimer's, to save time, just go ahead and hide your own Easter eggs, okay?

And Then A Story....

You heading out tonight, it being Friday an’ all? Going to sink a few with your buds and tell tales that’ll get ever more exciting and unlikely as the evening progresses? Cool, but before you head out the door give this a listen as it’s big boys story telling at its best and I’m betting there’s more than one travelin’ fellow out there that has a similar a tale to relate.
“The last thing I wanted was to get in a fight in Jackson, Mississippi on a Saturday night.”

That’s all it is; just a story, right?

Same story here, updated for the eighties.
