And Then, A Song...

Since this bug thingy started going around, this song seems to be playing in my head every morning upon waking. Can’t for the life of me figure out why. I guess it’s because the name’s close enough to the bugs for jazz. It also takes me back into the bright and beautiful past.

There is, of course, a Corrine for the media and the lovefest they’re having with the bug of doom, gloom and Look-At-Me’dia.

“Music is the only thing in this world, with the exception of sneezing and looking at the sunset, that takes you to a place that's above the mundane. Everything else is just bullshit.”

Or of course Quincy Jones and "I Know Corrida"

Anonymous,
Yup, another good choice. They'll all go well with the Thursday socially close an' cuddly happy-clappy party time...

Mac, just as I saw coming. Now people are being 'named and shamed' for not joining in with the happy clapping. Some good links in the comments:

Ripper,
Yup, I saw that. As you say, it was only a matter of time. Now of course, folk are going to be 'shopped' for not observing the one minute silence. If only the media would take a one month silence break. Oh, wait a minute, there's an Off switch right there!!

Oh, the one minute silence.. forgot about that. The only sounds you can hear are the birds in the distance.. and the sound of power tools, sawing and hammering coming from my house. I'm thinking of specially waiting for it this week, and choosing that time for trying out the new drag pipes I put on the bike.

I ran them when I put them on, and when I switched the bike off all the cats in the vicinity were howling.

I'm just thinking.. when I get to go out on that bike and take it down the entry, the neigbours will be on their doorstep then, but they sure won't be clapping...

Ripper,
Now that’s a proper sound right there. Let it rip good buddy!!
Think about this; every news bulletin usually starts with a new number for daily dead. This is then qualified as to how many died at home{?} or in hospital. Now I appreciate the fact that hospital staff are dealing with something new but they do seem to be loosing an awful lot of folk to warrant claps, hugs, rainbows and millions in ‘donations’ don’t you think? Clapping any working folk every time things briefly got tough for ‘em on the job and we’d never be off the doorstep.

Its not just that Mac, my own daughter was a senior staff nurse at the hospital, she started in a new job on Monday as ward sister on neurology. I believe she's got that far because she holds the values that I gave her as a toddler on up. She makes me proud and is a hard worker, as are most of her colleagues. So yes, I would applaud them for the fact that they do put their own well being at risk for the sake of mine or yours. However, so do many more people in other industries.

But people don't seem to realise what they are clapping for. The NHS as an organisation is full of faceless bureaucrats, who have ran away to hide in self isolation whilst leaving it to those on the front line to run the whole thing. The PPE thing for example - everybody blames the government, but the government does not procure supplies, those bureaucrats in the NHS do that. But they have been too busy inventing pointless jobs with silly titles for their friends. Corruption within the NHS is as rife as in Africa. The whole thing needs knocking down and rebuilding. I simply won't add my support to that. My daughter already knows how much I appreciate, I don't need to clap.

Ripper,
That comment front and centre tonight if that's okay with you...
