And Then A Competition...

Well, so, where are we now with lock-up? Day two hundred is it? Feels like it. What the hell did the MSM ‘report’ about before this bug rolled up? Damned if I can remember what ‘news’ was. What I didn’t fully realise until a few days ago is that this bug is actually a competition. Now I know that, getting out o’ bed in the morning isn’t just about coffee and taking my meds but has the added excitement of turning the TV on to check the scores on the doors.

Pardon? You hadn’t noticed? Well, some mornings the presenters are announcing, with breathless excitement, that yesterdays total UK deaths had closed the gap between us and the countries with bigger total numbers of deaths and it looks like we’re on course to make it to top death country. Other mornings they are more subdued as a slightly lower daily toll had slowed our race for that much coveted country death league top spot.

Now a quick type for Captain Tom. I really do hope you’re considering donating some of that huge amount of money you’ve raised to veterans of the two wars who’re less fortunate than you would appear to be. Can’t be too many left so a couple or three laps worth should cover it nicely. I also hope he’s considering donating ten laps worth to help all service personnel who’ve been injured in all the conflicts this country has been involved in since those two wars.

Sadly, all I can imagine is many NHS, blessed be its name, charities fighting for the biggest share and the bosses of said charities wetting their panties in anticipation of enhanced salaries and bonuses for the year.

Damn!! Almost forgot; it’s happy-clappy night again isn’t it. Bang on a saucepan tonight? Or how about a bed pan? Or shall I try walking up and down collecting fivers?
