And Then An Opportunity...

I see in the news that an ex member of Her Majesty's Armed Forces is suing the army as he got cold on a training exercise. Seems he’s claiming his superiors neglected to inform him that it was winter and thus cold and as a consequence he suffered from a ‘cold-related' condition...
He claims that superiors failed to warn him to bring kit such as gloves, winter socks and boots for the exercise. Wot? Oh, Just a reminder; Don’t forget your boots??

In the real world this case would get as far as this fellow explaining his case and demands to his chosen brief and said brief responding incredulously with, “You want to take the army to court because of what now? Say again; over?” End of. But in these modern ‘progressive’ times?**

I do hope a flock of legal eagles are circling over this case and should it proceed and end in favour of this fellow, they’re ready to bombard the TV with “No Win No Fee” adverts aimed at the tens of thousands of minimum payment pensioners, imploring them to file against the government for failing to providing affordable means of heating during the winter months and that the two hundred pound winter payment just isn’t cutting the mustard owing to ever rising prices owing to the governments obsession for going ever greener. And of course the lack of governmental advice regarding the wearing of boots and mittens when it’s cold... The soldier is sad; the above would be a joy to watch.

**Having typed that, I did a little research – I stress the word little – and discovered this beauty from back in 2013. See? The place has been nuts for a tad longer than you thought. And probably longer.

How’s that gender equality thingy working out for ya? Those gates that guard against flooding must be close to bursting open, especially as we now have the LGBTQUERTY community to contend with as well. By-the-by, I’m typing this today in my squirrel persona.
