And Then, A Problem...

Following the terrible tragedy on the St. Petersburg metro, it’s been spookily quiet and I’m guessing the usual virtue signalling suspects were twisting themselves into knots of confusion trying to figure out how to handle the situation after doing a Google and discovering St. Petersburg’s in Russia and Russia’s bad, right? Right?

And then, with uncanny timing, along comes another tragedy that’s being neatly laid at the door of ol’ Basher and his bestest buddy Vlad the Lad.

How fortuitous is that then? Vlad bad so no need to show solidarity with those pesky Ruskies. No need to light-up buildings. No arm linking needed. No hash-tag required. No need to change avatars. Job neatly taken care of and the usual suspects can unpack their heads and their bags and relax ‘till there’s tragedy that’s more acceptable to their world view.

Of course, they could just pack their sandals and candles and head for Syria, the scene of the latest tragedy. One has to wonder how far Kumbaya would get ‘em down there...

By-the-by, did you see this over at Nourishing Obscurity? As Mr Poe said - or was it the raven? - Believe half of what you see and nothing you hear.

Quote;  J. D. Salinger.

“And I can't be running back and fourth forever between grief and high delight.”
