And Then, Another Meltdown...

Don’t you just love the discomfiture of the MSM and politicians as they wriggle around trying to black the fact that Nigel Mirage stole a march on our ‘betters’ and popped over to Trumpton for a meeting with the Don?

Trumpton; would that now be Donny, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Nige and Grub?

Never mind, what a year! Can it get any better? Brexit, Trump, Nige and Trump, snowflakes in meltdown and the MSM eating itself. If Christmas is a fraction as good as the past few months have been, it’ll truly be one to remember. At least for as long as I can remember anything at my age.

Talking of Christmas, I note the TV adverts are now pretty much in full-on ‘you WILL be festive’ mode and I do admit to quite liking the John Lewis offering. On that point, and further to the post from a little bit after a while ago, relating to the proliferation of  nudge, nudge adverts featuring fellows with full facial hair, have you noticed lately that ol’ whity seems to be getting nudge, nudged right out of the advertising game? Just an observation is all.

NOTE: During my extensive research in preparation for this post, I was somewhat shocked to discover that the Trumpton firemen were, in fact, Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grub. It was not Hugh, Pugh...; there was no Hugh. It seems Pugh and Pugh were twins. Who knew, eh? To put it beyond doubt, It’s articulated quite clearly half way through this archive material from, as I remember them, gentler times.

“To understand the workings of American politics, you have to understand this fundamental law: Conservatives think liberals are stupid. Liberals think conservatives are evil.”

It's a fine time to be retired and not give a toss. I'm not keen on Christmas but this year there is much to savour.

I'm hoping these things come in threes, Brexit, Trump and ..........?

A K Haart,

"I'm hoping these things come in threes, Brexit, Trump and....?" and that, as they say, is the rub. Brexit, Trump and... back in the EU? Back in? I stand corrected; never get out?
