And Then It’s Pulled...

My back again? No. Pulled food’s what I’m talkin’ about.

There we were, scanning the supermarket ‘something fast an’ simple to eat tonight’ display when I spotted that fairly new phenomenon, I believe, pulled pork. As I reached out for a plastic pre-packed pack of microwaveable pre-pulled pig, and don’t that sound just perfect? my eyes strayed sideways, and I’m happy to relate they both strayed in the same direction and at the same time, I spotted more pulled packs.

It seems everything is now available pre-pulled. There was pulled pork of course, pulled chicken, pulled lamb and pulled beef. Further along was the expected pulled halal selection but nowhere did I see anything for that totally ignored minority group, cannibals. Yup, no sign of pulled whity.

I don’t understand the lack as our legs are being pulled on an hourly basis by all those jolly important people popping up all over the place and pointing out the dire and disastrous consequences we’ll face should we have the cheek to vote Leave. The big leg-pull I caught today was one MP saying how much safer we are and how much better our security will be if we stay in. A tad later, another MP stated that something like a thousand bad boys are managing to enter Europe every month. I’d like to ask the first guy to stop trying to pull my leg all the way down to the supermarket.

In other news, I see that Pope fellow has got one up on all those celebs and politicos who were waving those Refugees Welcome signs and those who’ve popped over to Calais to meet some, by taking twelve home with him. Now that sure do take the holiday souvenir idea to a whole new level. Not sure if the ol’ Pope was aware of the enrichment that had been taking place in Paris before he headed home with his twelve-pack all the same.

Quote;  Erma Bombeck.

“It is ludicrous to read the microwave direction on the boxes of food you buy, as each one will have a disclaimer: 'THIS WILL VARY WITH YOUR MICROWAVE.' Loosely translated, this means, 'You’re on your own, Bernice.'”

Phew, when you mentioned the Pope I thought you were going to introduce the idea of pulled nuns.

A K Haart,
Pulled nuns? Never crossed my mind. Sadly, now you've sown the seeds, I'll probably have a night of strange thoughts and yet stranger dreams...
