And Then, That Is That….

Well, that's that then. I entered my heavy ink cross at ten thirty this morning. It was just me and two bored mint sucking ladies behind a desk. I did enquire if there was any truth in the rumour that if you vote labour you get a pat on the head and a mint but that enquiry was just met with blank looks.

Well, it's out of my hands, if it was ever in 'em, and all is now in the lap of the cross-counters.

Well, will I stay up all night excitedly watching the results trickle in? Absolutely not. The prospect of being tucked up in bed unconscious holds more excitement for me.

Well, what I think I'll do is come down tomorrow morning, brew a coffee and then, when he be ready and poured, I'll turn on BBC Radio Four. If they're playing non-stop military dirges I'll look further afield for what may possibly be good news; relatively speaking. If they're brightly and breathlessly discussing the breaking of a bright new dawn, I'll go back to bed. Red sky in the morning; citizens warning.

Persuades the mob, great woes befall the state.”

I plan to stay up until I fall asleep. Could be as late as 10.30

A K Haart,
I'm assuming that's not 10:30 tomorrow morning, right?
It's just coming up to eight thirty and I'm nodding off with excitement already! That's PM by the way....

Well - I've had a day filled with excitement and moment; then collected the Memsahib from work, hauled up at the village hut and scrawled our crosses indelibly (we spurned the use of their pencils) in the box calculated to cause the incumbent Tory the least pleasure and then repaired to a local inn for a tissue restorer or two.

I think some hot cocoa and straight to bed will be all that I can bear...

Caratacus,
....and thus we awake to the same-old-same-old.
I may go down to the polling place later today and ask if I can have my cross back.

I hear that Mrs. Balls' little boy is anxiously awaiting the result of a recount. Would it be too bad of me to pray silently that he finds himself queueing at his local food bank later this year?

Caratacus,
In a queue later today would be good. At the back.
And you have to feel sorry for Ed, Crazy Davey as well. No?
