And Then I’ll Be Occupied….

I’ll be a ‘no-show’ here until after the weekend as, from tomorrow, I’ll be in amongst assisting with the renewal of our gutters, soffits and fascias. If you don’t see anything new on this site by next Tuesday it may well be an indicator that I fell. I must stress falling isn’t in my overall plan and I’m hoping to stick to that plan. Is that a plan or wot? It’s definitely a plan that avoids pain.

Anything else? Oh, yes; last I looked our jets had hit two enemy targets. A truck with a gun on the back and a gun on its own. Seems like that plan’s working okay then although I’m hoping my plan works a tad better. Having said that, I haven’t seen the news today so I don’t know if the baddies have surrendered yet or not. One’s left to wonder how much those two{?} shots cost.

It seems those Hong Konganoneons are having one of those democracy parties at the moment. I’m guessing that one’s a tad awkward* for our political leaders and betters thus their spooky silence on the subject. What to do eh boys?

So farewell for now; I’ll see you all when I finally get myself out of the gutter.

{*there is no way I’m going to let on how many stabs it took me to get that spelling wright but a couple of attempts kicked off with auqu… and aorqu… Oh deer me.}

Hope all goes well. Gutters, soffits and fascias are too high for me these days.

I've never been scared of falling, it's hitting the ground that I don't like the thoughts of.

Gentlemen, I agree with both your comments and, after giving the project further thought, have decided to do the job from a trampoline rather than ladders. This will obviously lengthen the time required but should add some fun to the task.

Impressed by your steely nerve ... anything over six feet and I need oxygen these days ;-)

P.S. ref: Hong Kong - perhaps our politicos are a bit pensive about China because it has a standing army of over 2 million men at arms, thousands of tanks, many hundreds of warships (as opposed to our 19 inc. a half built aircraft carrier. With no aircraft for it) and lots and lots of ICBMs pointing vaguely in our direction. Much easier to set about little countries ... bullies rarely choose powerful targets :-)

Caratacus,
I agree but I’m sure she’ll be okay up there....
Remember the old story about the newly married lady who asked her husband for some money to buy a new dress? “What’s wrong with the one you’ve got?” He asked. “I keep catching my heels in the train when I’m going up and down ladders with my hod.”

"...bullies rarely choose powerful targets" And that, my friend, is why it'll be me up the ladder and not her.
