As an avid, dribbling reader of the Guardigroan, I see that those early to switch to lekky powered cars are getting a tad shocked when renewing their insurance. Up to five thousand pounds a year? That, it would seem, is if they can even find an insurance outfit willing to offer insurance for a potential
bomb. Boy, wot a bummer. At least they don’t have to get Road Tax. Yet. Whoa! Double bummer.
Should’ve gone clockwork eh? Okay, possibly a big wind-up key but it’d always be in the boot ready for use. Or possibly a smallish
key in the dashboard linked via a series of chain loops?
And what of public transport we’re all being encouraged to use? Wot’ll be the insurance cost for public buses when they all go electric? Will customer
trip costs rise dramatically to cover that? I need to ask? Lekky lorries? Boom go delivery costs. I’ve no idea how those costs will be covered. Really? Okay, I’ll hazard a silly guess; by us...
Slowly,
slowly it becomes ever clearer that Net Zero really means wot us down here will be allowed to own or be allowed to do and has nothing at all to do with ‘saving the planet’.
Quote; George Gobel.
“If it weren't for electricity, we'd all be watching television by candlelight.”
