And Then, Connection...

   A phew days ago, I fired up the tap-top but didn’t spot Billy looking in the Window  from the basket of his spy balloon. This resulted in the computer doing one of they Billy at the Window updates. Update is wot Billies script kiddies call it; better know to folk who actually use it as a downgrade...
   This latest downgrade manifest itself a couple of days later when I tried to print something. No printer discovered on the network. Bummer. Let’s see if it’ll find the printers scanner. No scanners discovered and Twain is not installed. Thank you very big Billy at the Window.
   Searching the Inter-Web for the set-up software for an old printer/scanner turned out to be akin to being tasked with finding proof of other life in the universe so after a day of trying to sort it I resorted a last throw of a six sided numerical cube.
   Thus, I fired up the old desktop ‘puter. It’s been a long time and, surprise, surprise, resulted in Billy spotting this and firing off copious Billy 10 updates at it. Now this is an old ‘puter, won’t take Billy 11 so these 10 updates, coupled with a phew re-starts, took all afternoon.
   Finally done, printer/scanner installation CD miraculously found – surprised was I, as you can really only find a CD in a technology  museum now -  popped him in and  copied to a thumb-drive.
   Back to tap-top, installed and Roberts your mothers brother, we have network contact back.
   Wot’s next Billy? Whatever it is, we’ll beat you one way or another. Time for this again? And again... And again... Whoa! You spot that? Wrong ‘puter thrown.

   More time frittered away and time is a valuable thing as Ripper reminded me. Man, haven’t heard this for so many years;

Quote;  Dr Seuss.

“How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”
