My first thoughts upon hearing the news of the tragic stabbings this morning was that the attack had probably been made by an ‘unsociable distancing’ fanatic who, while taking a stroll in the park, became incensed upon seeing a group of folk sitting in close proximity to each other and decided to thin the gathering out to more acceptable distancing.
My second thought was the odds. One against ten resulting in three deaths and three seriously injured amongst the ten? Is that fellow some sort of ninja nut job? Anyhoo, seems he’s also in the process of applying for asylum; you think this spot of bother will effect his application? Asking for a friend.
I’ve just seen that tussle haired scamp of a country leader of ours on TV saying lessons will be learned. How many times have we heard that? So yet again he affirms the belief us simple folk down here have had for a long time which is that those that would rule over us really do have severe learning difficulties.
Okay, sorry, I know I shouldn’t make light of something so tragic but as I recently said, owing to the state we’ve been put into, it’s just one damn thing after another and I have nothing left to give.
In other thoughts, not many weeks – nay days – ago the government decided some shops an’ such could re-open as long as provision was made regarding the two meter ‘unsociable distancing’ rules. Thus at, I imagine, no small expense, all places kitted themselves out, inside and outside, with miles of hazard tape and dozens of sticky deck signs showing the masses wot two meters looks like, where to stand and the recommended direction of travel. I would imagine many businesses that weren’t allowed to open at that time also put sticky signs up so’s to be ready to go.
Now, it’s expected the government will drop two all the way down to one meter distancing thus requiring all shops and public places to re-sign again at no small expense. All I can think is that the tape and sticky sign making industry is high on the governments list of businesses that needed a sharp financial kickstart. The next move will probably be the abandonment of all distancing and you all know that sticky signs rarely peel away cleanly thus giving the industrial cleaning companies a well deserved kickstart. Repeat the above for second and subsequent waves...
Quote; Terry Pratchett.
“Contrary to popular belief and hope, people don't usually come running when they hear a scream. That's not how humans work. Humans look at other humans and say, 'Did you hear a scream?' because the first scream might have been you screaming inside your head, or a horse backfiring.”
