And Then, Wot A Surprise...

Well, so, imagine my surprise yesterday to learn that the police will have access to that Test and Trace app thingy we must all download and activate.
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) confirmed it had "agreed a memorandum of understanding with the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC)" to provide forces with the information on a "case-by-case basis."
No, really, no surprise at all and if you think it’s going to stop there, you’re fully onboard with clown-world. However, I can only imagine the number of folk, who did the app bit in good faith, that are now wrestling with the uninstall process. If, indeed, there is such an option.  An unintended consequence of this could be the police bumbling about bursting peoples bubbles...

Tell you wot, if the Inter-webs an’ smartphones an’ such had been about at the time George wrote 1984, that book would be, at a minimum, ten chapters longer would it not?

This news came as I was opening yet another missive from the NHS, blessed be its name. This one was asking me to take part in some trial or other. Agree and they’d send me a bit o’ kit to stick in my finger and send the resulting blood off to them for ‘analysis’. They really aren’t going to give-up trying to get everyone's DN-A-Doodad via seemingly perfectly reasonable reasons are they. Pardon? It’s illegal to take DNA without permission you say? So they won’t do that then? Along with everything else they’re sure they aren’t going to do? Yeah, right. See chapter one.

Anyhoo you freedom lovers, get over to Head Rambles and check the link therein, go have a read and, should you wish, sign a petition. Can’t do no harm to try, other than the risk of being put on the Needing Re-education list...

Then go over to the ever nail head hitting A K Haart for a truly absurd post. “A curious aspect of the UK coronavirus debacle is how it has highlighted the power of the absurd.”

Time for this old number again m’thinks.

Try this one Mac, I wake up most mornings with it going through my head.. dropped on this gal the other week when I was looking for examples of hurdy gurdy music to post over at James Higham's place. An obscure, medieval instrument which is one of my favourites.
