And Then It’s Coming...

Well, so, that tussle haired scamp of a  ‘leader’ of ours has announced that muzzles will be ‘mandatory’ for shopping in shops in a week or so. Why not now? Errr, reasons. I guess we all have to do our bit to help those muzzle sellers who panicked at the word pandemic and went overboard and purchased vast stocks of the things, right?  Anyhoo, a couple of points those up there probably haven’t thunk through on this.

Firstly, that kick-start to get us all back to the high street? I would humbly suggest this is another nail in the high street coffin as yet more folk will be driven to shop online. Say wot now? But if you shop online, you have to pay for delivery. True, but if you go to the shop, trust me, there won’t be a free muzzle box by the door, you’ll need to buy one and those suckers don’t come cheap.

Number secondly; enforcement is going to be a bit of a doozey for the police, right?  Plus all  the arrests for assaults – both verbal and physical - on shop staff. Shop lifting? “Sorry officer, I’ve no idea wot they  looked like, they were wearing masks.” And the load on the courts? And so on and so forth. Whoa!! TV adverts incoming: “Do you believe you’ve been wrongly muzzled recently? Contact Muzzle-me-not.com for a no win, no fee claim.”

Remember, the courts are also going to be a tad busy coping with all those pesky over seventy five year olds who have refused to help the BBC pay those inflated salaries; inflated salaries which only seem to result in deflated output.

All in all, it all points to, if not a perfect storm, certainly a period of very blustery, unsettled weather ahead.

“Know the rules well, so you can break them effectively.”

Chances are the shop in a mask idea came from people who don't do their own shopping. We do all our shopping online so the mask idea will encourage us to keep on doing just that. Relax the rules and we might have visited the shops again but now - forget it.

A K Haart,
So true and. I'm sure, another shot below the water for the high street. There's probably a get out in there somewhere, like not wearing one for health reasons. You really couldn't make this stuff up. Having said that, someone is...
