And Then, Food Banks...

There was much in the news this morning regarding the expected increase in the use of they free food banks now the school kids are on holiday and will be looking for nosebag come the middle of the day.

That got me and her, or her and I if you will, thinking and wot we thought was that one shouldn’t say anything about food banks before first taking a look at wot it’s all about so off we went in search of one.

Having located something that certainly looked like one, going by the young, scantily clad, overly inked folk making their way in and out, we parked-up and nonchalantly stroll in and the first thing that hit us was the dizzying array of items available, food and many other household items. It was truly amazing! Wot to do? We decided to join in and so selected some items, stopped, and thought, wot the hay! It’s free so, as we’re here, we may as well select a bunch more stuff.

It wasn’t until we tried to leave the place, and a guy at the door politely told us we’d have to pay before leaving, that we discovered we were not in a food bank as we thought, but  in an Asda supermarket. A simple mistake for old folk to make I guess.

"If you stand in the meat section at the grocery store long enough, you start to get mad at turkeys. There's turkey ham, turkey bologna, turkey pastrami. Someone needs to tell the turkey, man, just be yourself.”
