And Then, With Luck...

This’ll be quick as, for the past few days, I’ve been suffering with connectivity problems. If I get a matter of minutes connected per hour I’m doing good. After the usual phone calls, I’ve been advised engineers will be dispatched and are due here to check stuff out sometime soon. Or soonish. Or in the next few weeks. Or months.

It never ceases to amaze me that they can communicate and operate stuff on Mars yet can’t, reliably, get Google from a telegraph pole, down a wire and onto my computer. The wire even slopes slightly downhill towards the house to aid delivery.  What’s the alternative? Blog from Mars?

Anyhoo, keeping it short, which doesn’t compute as I can make this as long as I want; it’s the bit when I have to get wot I type from here to that Web thingy that things go wrong.

What was I typing? Right. Ol’ Trumpton seems to have covered more ground in a slack hand-full of days than most ‘leaders’ and politicians achieve in a slack hand-full of years. Long may it continue for no better reason than enjoying watching the general MSM and BBC as their ace reporters get ever more desperate.  I watched Trumpton signing that paper regarding immigration on Sky News. They cut straight from the signing to show a bunch of teenage girls, grinning and dancing hand-in-hand in protest. All wearing the obligatory bobbly hats and three metre long scarfs. I wish them good luck in life.

I’m going to press the magic button now so if you’re reading this, you’ll know my connection held up. If you’re not reading this you haven’t missed anything. Again.

“One of the most feared expressions in modern times is, 'The computer’s down.'”

I don't know why we can't simply switch the internet off then switch it back on again. That should work.

A. K. Haart,
That’s a good idea and, on the up-side, I believe an Internet ‘Off’ button is an idea greatly favoured by many in high places. On the down-side, I also believe those same highly placed people are opposed to the idea of a ‘Back On’ button.
