A very quick post today as I really don't know how long communications are going to hold up, with the imminent arrival of Storm Clodagh an' all, but I just wanted you to know that we're as prepared as we can be. We have water and food and candles and a looped recording of Abide With Me and plan to stay hunkered down in the cupboard under the stairs with the radio on until we hear a public broadcast announcement pronouncing it to be safe to sally forth once more or four.
Shortly before retreating to our shelter, an idea my little nest of vipers thinks is the craziest idea I've had since the last crazy idea I'd had, I chanced to look out the window and was aghast to see many elderly folk just going about their busines as usual, walking their dogs and such, without a care in the world. I didn't want to risk going outside to warn these poor folk in case Clodagh pounced and I'm sorry to say that my banging on the window and frantic gesticulations of alarm only got me looks that suggested they thought I was nuts. I pleaded with her indoors to help me at the window but just got a look that suggested she thought I was nuts.
There was, however, a dearth of younger folk and I can only assume they'd taken note of the scary weather forecasts, as had I, and feeling unable to cope with the prospect of wind and rain occurring simultaneously were already hunkered down below their smartphones trembling in anticipation of Clodagh and wondering how they'd cope if they lost their signal.
Once Clodagh has blown out and the government decree it's safe to leave our shelter, with any luck I'll be greeted with headlines in the local papers along the lines of; Storm Clodagh Sweeps Through Northern Towns And Cities Leaving In Excess of Four Million Pounds Worth Of Improvements In It's Wake.
Wot? That's an old one? Yes, but so am I.

Off topic I know, but I just couldn't resist the urge to rise to your challenge. I used those sound sequencers a lot in the past on the trusty old Amiga - Noisetracker and Protracker. But I decided instead to use off the shelf music with Windows Movie Maker. I've been on night shifts all week so didn't get the chance to do it. So sit back, feast your ears whilst being whisked around the Man at breakneck speed. I hope you enjoy it. Oh, and I had to use WMV and have no Youtube account so its on my server.

I don't remember Johnnie's doughnuts looking like fannies because I grew up at that time with no TV or electrickery, but I have heard about it. Priceless.

Thanks for the offer Mac, however the original video is an official Duke video, so I don't think I can use my altered version publicly because of copyright etc. The music is under the Creative Commons International licence, which I would need to refer to in the credits even though the music is free to use. I did it just because I can, and for your enjoyment, and perhaps you could hide it in the 'Stuff I like' menu. So glad you enjoyed it.
