And Then The Past...

Sorry, I’ve been busy the past bit of a while enjoying myself. Yup, me, me, me.
So how? Well, A phew days ago, out of the blue, I was contacted by an old friend who lives in a land far, far, far away who tracked me down via a mutual friend.
This fellow was a work colleague, as well as being a friend.  A most knowledgeable chap regards all things marine and rig moving and one of the nicest guys it was my privilege to meet and work with. Okay, if he wasn’t number one he was in the top two.
This re-connect resulted in the exchange of photos of long ago comrades and the recounting of adventures past resulting in our heads taking trips way back in time with each memory triggering yet other memories.
How can you misplace friends you may ask. Well, back then there was no Wibbly Wobbly Web and latterly it was in its infancy, so an E-mail address wasn’t even a thing and offshore work being wot it was, folk got moved, found a proper job or just quit without notice so contact info was rarely, if ever, exchanged so once you lost touch then touch was lost and back then there wasn’t an app for getting touch back...
Anyhoo, it’s been a hell of a ride these past few days and promises many more for the future.

Quote;  Rita Mae Brown.

"The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best friends. If they’re OK, then it’s you."

James Higham,
So true and a sad reflection on the times we live in is that when we suddenly see mail from a name from the distant past, what's the very first thing we think of? Ah, a scam... How sad.
