And Then, Mounting Excitement...

So it’s another budget day tomorrow and I see the hospitality are bleating for government funding owing to costs and lack of punters. Here’s a cunning plan; how about dramatically reducing income tax so’s folk have money to spend on eating out and other stuff they’d like?
Anyhoo, knowing how excited you all are, as indeed am I, while waiting to see how much will be given by the hand in view to be taken back – plus some – by the small printing all but hidden hand, try the old verse below – be damned if I can find an author. Worth a forwarding it to your numpty of poo-lament you think?

Tax his land, tax his wage,
Tax his bed in which he lays.
Tax his tractor, tax his mule,
Teach him taxes are the rule.

Tax his cow, tax his goat,
Tax his pants, tax his coat.
Tax his ties, tax his shirts,
Tax his work, tax his dirt.

Tax his chew, tax his smoke,
Teach him taxes are no joke.
Tax his car, tax his grass,
Tax the roads he must pass.

Tax his food, tax his drink,
Tax him if he tries to think.
Tax his sodas, tax his beers,
If he cries, tax his tears.

Tax his bills, tax his gas,
Tax his notes, tax his cash.
Tax him good and let him know
That after taxes, he has no dough.

If he hollers, tax him more,
Tax him until he's good and sore.
Tax his coffin, tax his grave,
Tax the sod in which he lays.

Put these words upon his tomb,
“Taxes drove me to my doom!”
And when he’s gone, we won’t relax,
We’ll still be after inheritance tax.

Quote;  Earl Wilson.

“This would be a much better world if more married couples were as deeply in love as they are in debt.”

Now if they could only find a way to tax sex.
It has all the right qualities.
Participants enjoy it. Lots of people do it. The activity is unfairly distributed among the population and the deprived should be compensated.

Doonhamer,
Please, oh please don't sow the seeds of such a huge money-making idea into our 'betters' heads.
Who cares any more? In the words of the song, 'They can't take what I haven't got.'
