And Then, In And Out Again...

I’m sure you’re all wondering wot’s happened to me these past couple of days. Say wot now? Well, I’m going to tell you anyway.
Back in the mists of time I was an avid family history sort of chap. This, amongst other things, resulted in the site found over left the way, In Memory, wot I put together.
Anyhoo, a family member has recently taken an interest in family history and has contacted me regards passing on some information.
This I am doing but the info sorting is extremely time consuming and that is where I be. Should be done in another couple of days. Yea, said that before...

Quote;  Ogden Nash.

“A family is a unit composed not only of children but of men, women, an occasional animal, and the common cold.”

My love of family history began when I was a very small boy. My father would religiously troop us round to visit his ancient aunties and uncles. These were mostly folks born in the 1880s. (Aunty Nellie was born in 1865). Every one of them as sharp as a tack.
I remember clearly being told by my father once: "When we get where we're going, you sit still, don't fidget, don't touch anything and don't speak unless you're spoken to, or you'll cop it when you get home". An instruction for which I remain eternally grateful. I sat there, I listened, I absorbed every nuance of a different world.
Thus began a remarkable journey.

Rick,
Lovely and much the same as my early recollections.
