And Then Sorry…

...for my prolonged absence but I’ve been bombarded by real{?} world things to do.
I see the budget, put together by that lady wot runs that failing whelk stall just down the road, isn’t going down very well. Seems the only winners are those with abundant babbys, paid for by us.
You spot wot could be the outcome of this? Remember that scam-demic? Remember them building that never used Nightingale Hospital? I’m betting that in the near future, after folk have done the maths - with help - on the financial gains possible with more babbies, we’re going to need a Nightingale in every town and city in the country to act as maternity wards.

Shall we all leap into this babymaking biz, Foggy?

James,
Could be a whole new meaning to the old phrase, baby boomers, could it not?

We can but try.

Ripper,
So good to see you again. I understand you got locked{?} out. No idea, never touched the setting of this site since day one. Just Google having fun? Anyhoo, stay well as I'm not sure how much longer I'll be tapping out here. It's an age thing...

Mac,
I think that I was running something that Google didn't like (my PC was locked down, maybe too agressive). All of blogspot sites were the same. I could comment, but when I submitted it, my comment went to the ether. This was over a year ago, during that time, I've been trying commenting with no luck. However, recently a power cut took out my PC, and I lost all my data - logins, mail, pictures - the lot. I had to buy a new PC (Windoze 11 - just rubbish - 2% OS, and 98% ads), removed the drives and put those in USB caddys and started copying files. My life was saved by a little program called Hekasoft Backup Restore - this program backup the profiles on the browser (any) and email client. So the new PC has drive C only the system - nothing else, drive D (USB) all data, media etc. and drive E (USB) containing the original data for copying from (around 2TB)

For Windoze 11, there is a little program called CrapFix on Github. So I will getting this new PC done about 2 years. I've fixed the old PC, this will be running only Linux, then it will be 'goodbye Micro$oft'.

Ripper,
This is strange; got mail with your comment and saying you’d left a comment. Had a look - nothing. Back to mail and below the comment were options. Never seen that before but clicked publish and there it was. What’s that all about?
very succinctly put old friend. It’s funny how computers have evolved from being something useful and fun to use into something to be very wary of and fight on a daily bases is it not?

Mac,
I don't know exactly what you are saying, do you get my comment in email?

To comment, I just do the as follows -
Click the 'Post a Comment' link below your post. This opens a pop up contains all previous comments. At the bottom the pop-up, there is a gadget with options - I choose the Name/URL - just enter my handle (Ripper no URL), then write my comment then click the 'Publish' button.

My comment usual appears immediately below the rest of comments in the pop-up window.

If the comment doesn't appear, I can safely guess that the comment has winged it straight to the ether.

Ripper,
These are the hyper links that appear at the bottom of E-mails regarding comments you leave;
Publish
Delete
Mark as spam
I don’t see your comment until I click Publish in the notification E-mail. No idea where that came from.
The other comment left by johnd2008 just had the ‘comment left’ mail and nothing else and the comment was shown without any further clicking on my part.
