And Then An Old Joke…

Whilst wasting time the other day clicking fruitlessly on the TV remote in an attempt to find something newish I came upon one of they TV time filling, much repetitive talking antiques shows. This reminded me of the old joke by, was it Tommy Cooper? That went something like this about a couple who moved into their home and finally took a look up in the attic and much to their surprise found a a painting and a violin which they believed could be a Rembrandt and a Stradivarius. With barely contained excitement they set off to get them valued. The expert confirmed they were indeed a Rembrandt and a Stradivarius but, sadly, told the couple that Rembrandt made lousy violins and Stradivarius was a rubbish painter.
In other ‘news’, it seems new guidance is on the way regards school kids and smartphones. One lady being interviewed regards this, I have to say, summed up the phone revolution perfectly for me when she stated she lived near a secondary school and at the end of the day when the kids left for home, all with their heads down looking at the phones in their palms, it looked like a zombie apocalypse...

“Remember that the most valuable antiques are dear old friends.”
