So round it came. And that would be my little nest of vipers birthday. Her day, so wot would she like to do? Go for lunch at her favourite hostelry. No problem, it’s a nice place and the food is always good. Downside? It involves an hour and a half drive to get there. It also involves, unsurprisingly, an hour and a half drive to get home.
I also pointed out the fact{?} that there was a war going on and the possible downside of leaving the safety of the cupboard under the stairs but she gave all that war stuff no never mind so go we did.
As expected, fine food but the surroundings looked a tad tired as, I guess, a result of co-co and having shutdowns foist upon them, then customers terrified into not going out, all resulting in no ‘spare’ money available for the usual running repairs and a spot of remedial decorating.
Anyhoo, nice country lane drive, fine meal and drive home but then I spoiled it all by turning on the TV to watch the ‘news’.
All I can say is it’s a funny old war wot’s, allegedly, going on as, according to all the reporters ‘on site’, everything’s happening ‘over there’. If those are live pictures we’re being fed, it’s good to see the street and home lighting’s still up and running as that should surely help the ‘enemy’ artillery chaps, right? I have no idea, but it seems like a spookily quiet war, as reported, to me.
This all leads me to wonder, when watching the ‘news’, if we’re being told the truth or are we just being fed fake fear as wot ‘they’ desperately want us to believe in?
On a more important note, I do hope Mr Bojangles, on instructions from his good lady wife, is working hard behind the scenes to ensure the safe evacuation of all stray dogs caught-up in this deadly conflict. And, as a just in case they’re needed measure, we’re getting all our tanks an’ such painted up in glowing, combat ready LGBTQWERTY colours. Let’s also hope the infantry are finalising their moves ready for Tick-Tock. Don’t forget they’ll be up against tough competition competing with those NHS, blessed be its name, Tick-Tock moves...

Mac,
Do pass my best wishes to your nest of vipers. I do hope this year's colander birthday gift was at least gold plated.
Vlad has done such a lot in the last few days, not only showing the middle finger to NATO by establishing two new countries but proving just how incompetent and powerless the Western leaders are. Biden had a nappy change and Bojo wrote Vlad a stern letter. That'll teach him. Also, as someone has noticed, every Russian strike took out a US owned bio laboratory thingy. How clever is that then?
Ooops! Forgot the link, had a Biden moment, sorry.

A song perhaps?

Rick
Ripper,
Let's hope that, rather than destroy these labs, he first gets in there and salvages the computers and all un-shredded documents eh?
Rick,
Thanks for the link. Works for me...
Mac,
If interested you'll find a bit more info on those labs, over at Higham's place. Does the name Peter Dazak (sp?) ring a bell?
