And Then A Goodbye...

I see that American fellows funeral has been all over the news for quite a while now with singing, speeches and much clapping of hands all conducted by a big bunch of folk, cheek to jowl, and described by our news outlets as emotional outpourings of grief.

Over here, a funeral featuring any more than the body is described and condemned as a flagrant disregard of social distancing ‘regulations’. One has to assume that the scenes of that funeral will convince mourners over here they can now assemble in huge numbers, right?

Prior to this we had been assured, half hourly, by the media that one guy, thinking of his family first and driving two hundred miles or so, signalled the end of the world as we know it as now nobody would obey the lockup rules and the virus would be free to run rampant. Total media meltdown.

Now? world wide mass demonstrations, apparently predominantly peaceful, protesting about rankings in some colour chart or other and the hysterical screeching from the media is... Oh, right.

Finally, I can see this ‘taking the knee’ thingy is going to be the new Look-At-Me’dia awesome hot shot now that giving carers the clap is so, like, last year.

Okay, giving all that no never mind, let’s have a great singalong song so here’s to a long life y’all;

Quote;  Maureen Murphy.

“I know a woman who had her husband cremated and then mixed his ashes with grass and smoked him. She said it was the best he’d made her feel in years.”
