And Then An Old Song...

Sad news today. It seems we’ve lost Leonard Cohen. I was never a great fan but one song has been ‘with me’ for as long as I can remember. I do, however, have this nagging feeling that it must’ve been ‘with me’ for longer than a week...

Farewell Leonard, enjoy your sleep and here, again, is the appropriately named, Closing Time.

Quote;  Albert Schweitzer.

“There are two means of refuge from the misery of life — music and cats.”

I was never a great fan either. I couldn't stand the guy although he seemed to tap into something bleak in the human psyche.

Not quite version of 'Closing Time' I was expecting, Mac. I remember hearing Billy Connolly singing this many years ago but I'm blessed if I can find it on Youtube. The lyrics, if memory serves, went along the lines of:

Oh it's closing time again I'll have to leave you,
For you'se have got that far-away look in your eyes,
I've got to hoose the lavvy doon and count the tumblers,
And wipe the stoor fram off tomorrow's pies.

Oh .. I'm so sorry, that was 'Crying Time' by Brenda Lee :-)

A K haart, Caratacus,
He sure didn't come across as a happy go lucky chappy through his music did he?
Brenda lee? Who next; Ruby Murray?
And yesterday? The Man From bloody Uncle, Robert Vaughn, has now bowed out.
And tomorrow?
I blame it all on Trump an' brexit.

Caratacus,
I did that search stuff as well and came up with the same Billy number as you; Crying Time it is...
