And Then yet Another….

Some time ago, in fact back in 2013, I noticed and posted about a TV advertisement that the producers thought required on-screen confirmation of the fact that the little movie was only pretend.

I stated at the time that I wondered if things could get any sadder. The answer, it would seem, is not yet sadder but as sad as ever going by the latest offering, for a denture glue, featuring an actress precariously trying to maintain her balance on a huge bottom set of wobbly dentures. You seen it? Yes? Well, I do hope you took on-board the important caption stating it's only a dramatization. If you missed that I can only hope you didn't end up too traumatized.

So all you TV lovers who may be of a nervous disposition and all you timidadians out there, please don't believe all you see on TV. It's not really a poor little lady on wobbly teeth in a giants mouth, okay? It's pretend, okay?

To get this into perspective, a land that built an empire now needs to point out to its present population that a little lady wobbling about on giant wobbly teeth and the little blue fellows in a tube of fungal nail cream are dramatizations.

And the self-same people who need guiding through TV adverts such as these, are the self-same people expected to understand and carefully consider the pros and cons, as presented to them by the 'in' and 'out' camps, relating to being in or out of the European Union and then cast their vote accordingly. They have got to be kidding, right? Both camps could do worse than presenting their respective arguments in the form of colouring books. Crayons provided of course; but that's only common sense.

Don't get too depressed; there's always hope but, for now, it's trapped in a dictionary.

Quote;  Rod Serling.

"It is difficult to produce a television documentary that is both incisive and probing when every twelve minutes one is interrupted by twelve dancing rabbits singing about toilet paper."
