...Should you update to Billy 11, be aware that if you go through all the folders in File Explorer, you’ll find one named Recent. I found it after a week of getting things together and found it was exactly as named. It had a shortcut for just about everything I’d clicked on over the past week. Man, it was loaded.
Now this cunning feature could be useful for some but for others, such as I, not so much. The good news is this feature can be easily disabled in the Personalisation part of the Settings.
I’m up against one last problem right now - a problem I can live with but it’s a tad annoying - I can find no way to set a picture viewer of my choice to be the default image viewer. Nothing in Settings and if I right click a photo I can get it to open with my choice in the pop-up menu but the extra choice of ‘Always Use This...’ is no longer available for images and the default program is Bully Billy Photos, end of. A Giggle of this would seem to indicate it’s something that could be addressed later this year.
Anyhoo, a workaround for me is to open Irfanview in thumbnail view then any nail clicked upon will open in Irfanview.
Finally, if you fancy a tad of extra security and load Trusteer Rapport and activate it in your browser, don’t forget to click on the Rapport icon in your browser, click Settings, Security Policy, enter the code you’re presented with and Edit to activate some ‘actions’ such as blocking attempts to remote screen capture. An action, with a few others, you’d kind of expect to be default settings in security software.
That just about concludes my adventures with Billy 11. All-in-all, once all was running as desired, the difference between Billy 10 and 11 would seem to be the numeral 1 which could possibly be a minus figure for users...

I find the MS Photo thing annoying too - it's not even a particularly good app.
ReplyDeleteA K Haart,
ReplyDeleteI agree. I'll keep looking for a fix other than deleting Photo as, from what I can discover, doing that seems to create other problems.
