Where have I been? I’ll attempt to explain and it would seem to revolve round my tick-a-tack.
I believe I mentioned a little bit after a while ago that I’d
had bloods taken as part of my annual health inspection and got a call from the GP to have yet another blood test. This I done did and shortly thereafter got a call to get my sorry ass down to the surgery to see the doctor
PDQ.
He informed me that by bloods showed a high level of potassium - in fact at a level that could stop my ticker. This even though I had none of the symptoms he went through.
Anyhoo, he told me to book an
ECG which I did at reception, for the thirteenth and headed to home only to get a call to return to the surgery where I was told that was too long to wait and I must get my ass down to the hospital Accident and Emergence right
quick and he gave me paperwork to take.
Home I went and ordered a fast black and if you’ve ever tried parking at a big hospital you’ll understand why...
Got there and there was about an half hour
wait in a queue at reception until my name was called. I presented the doctors paper and was escorted to see a nurse where more blood was take.
A short wait later I was taken to the emergence wing which was a corridor
of rooms*, into one, gowned up put on a wheeled bed and glued onto the ECG thingy and an auto blood pressure thingy. A doctor entered and explained wot was to follow which was basically a potassium reducing fight. This was
done by slowly dripping stuff into my blood stream from two bags one of which was marked glucose and the other I forget.
This took about three hours to complete at which time yet more blood was taken and after a short
wait I was informed they’d got the potassium content in my blood well below danger level so I could go home but to return the next day through the main hospital entrance for follow-up.
The next day was a lot more waiting than the first day and long story short potassium yet lower and a reducer prescribed to be taken for seven days before yet more bloods.
According to all the experts in the field of health, it seems I was unknowingly close to the exit door thus I repeat if nothing appears hear for thirty straight daze, I may well have left the room...
Tip; check the potassium contents of your food you think?
*These room where glass fronted so the time was spent watching ambulance stretchers being off-loaded into other rooms

Good fertiliser, your blood.
