Whilst out and about for no reason other than to be out and about, as lunch time approached and we were close to a favourite, large chain eatery we decided to call in.
We haven’t eaten there since early after being released from house arrest during the scam-demic.
As we entered it became apparent how the constantly media ‘reporting’ of the cost of living crisis is biting home. Yup, the place was full and we were lucky to get the one table not prebooked ‘till five that evening.
However, after ordering our two meals, side salads and fizzy water, things changed. The same order last visit after release from house arrest cost eighteen pounds and change. Yesterday for exactly the same order? Twenty six pounds and change...
Guess who was taken aback? Yup, my little nest of vipers as, while on the way there, declared she’d pay as an early birthday treat for me. Oh how I tried, to no avail, to stifle my mirth.
With mention of the scam-demic and questions now being asked in high places regards the safety of that experimental chemi cocktail, and that won’t be allowed to go anywhere will it, let’s have wot should be the seasons number one;
